The same bond

 The sacrifice of the cross will not be repeated, but it will be indefinitely prolonged. On Holy Thursday, in anticipation of his imminent death, the Saviour offers God and communicates his disciples the Victim Who will be immolated a few hours later. The Mass reproduces this act of Holy Thursday: This time, however, it is the Church, which, in memory of the death of Jesus, offers God and communicates the Christians, the Victim Who was immolated. The same bond that joins the Last Supper to the Cross, connects the Cross to all the Masses that have been and will be held until the end of the world. The Last Supper is the sacrifice of the Cross announced and begun, the Mass is the same sacrifice of the Cross continued and perpetuated.  

 El sacrifici de la Creu no es repetirà, però serà prolongat indefinidament. El Dijous Sant, en previsió de la seva mort imminent, els nostre Salvador ofereix a Déu i comunica als seus deixebles la Víctima que serà immolada unes hores més tard. La Missa reprodueix aquest acte de Dijous Sant: aquesta vegada, però, és l'Església, la qual, en memòria de la mort de Jesús, ofereix a Déu i comunica als cristians, la Víctima que ha estat immolada. El mateix lligam que uneix el Sopar a la Creu, enllaça a la Creu totes les Misses que han estat i seran celebrades fins a la fi del món. El Sant Sopar és el sacrifici de la Creu anunciat i començat, la Missa és el mateix sacrifici de la Creu continuat i perpetuat.
