Visionaries?

EnglishThe passage of the state of dejection which the conviction and the tragic and terrible ordeal of their Master produced to his friends, to the state of excitement which - according to some theories - would have turned them into visionaries, requires a certain preparation: obviously, in order for that theory to be plausible,  it would have taken a considerable bigger period of time, than only three days, between the funeral and the first appearance in the Upper Room.

Reserved joys

EnglishThose without our faith, can come to understand something of the emotion we experience on Christmas Eve; and even baptized Christians fallen into indifference, may still remain sensitive to the memory of the stable of Bethlehem and to the star of the Epiphany. But Easter, Christ's victory over death, the inauguration of the supernatural life on earth, the celebration of the first fruits of our resurrection, are unknown joys to those who remain unsensitive for God's love for us, joys reserved in its fullness to the privileged who know Jesus Christ.

They were not willing to believe in Him

EnglishHaving rejected all the suggestions they received from the Saviour, having denied the proofs he had given them about his divine mission, and finally having sinned against the Light, they got blinded inevitably... That is why the Lord did not want to come down from the Cross in orther that his enemies could "see and believe"; and neither did He after his resurrection: they simply were not willing to believe in Him.
