It's better an act of faith

English Many, when they were young, were victims of this tragedy: Less concerned about the moral law than by Christian dogma, in the years of adolescence when everyone feels proud to think for themselves, they were influenced by the attractiveness of philosophical disputes. Somewhat, the Catholic dogma seemed something from the past,  contradicted by the teachings of history and from the data of science. Thus, giving up the Christian dogma, they were left, all by themselves, in search of the truth. But in this long pilgrimage through the sources of human knowledge, they did not find anything to soothe their thirst. And after moving from a doctrine to another, as fluctuating children moved by any wind, they ended up filled with doubt in a desperate agnosticism.

One day they returned to the Gospel.

The Church blocked their pressured minds, preventing them from precipitating. The Church gave them back the security and the intellectual peace, and, just like Jouffroy before he died, after having moved through all philosophical systems, they could declare:

"So many systems that do not lead anywhere! It's much better a simple act of Christian faith ..."
