God and man

English  Jesus has all natural weaknesses: He starves in the desert, and he is thirsty near Jacob's Well, he knows fatigue and disturbance, sadness, he cries. He experiences all of our weaknesses, and yet it is impossible to discover in him any of the weaknesses that bear the stamp of sin, neither those that lead to sin, nor those that derived from it. Neither ignorance nor the difficulties of virtue, nor the inclination to evil. He wanted to go hungry, but when he wanted he had enough with five barley loaves to feed a crowd, and from the mouth of a fish he takes the coin to pay the tax. He weeps before the tomb of Lazarus: Behold the man. After invoking the Father who always listens to him, while crying, resurrects his friend who had been dead for four days: behold God. As God, He shines in glorious in Mount Tabor, as man, he is prostrated in Gethsemane and blood drops soak his forehead. "The Father is greater than I," he says, because he is man, but then: "Me and the Father are One" because he is God. He suffers his sentence like any other executed, He, who with a single word makes fall to the ground those who wanted to arrest him, and restores the ear of the soldier wounded by a sword. Being close to death, the Son of man releases the cry of despair of the defeated, but then, the Son of God expires with the greatest peace, "Father, into your hands I commend my spirit."

Crucified, he can not scape the cross: but when he gives his last breath, the sky darkens, the earth trembles, and the rocks crack.

Blessed are we, Christians, who as St. Peter , worship Him, the Son of God!
